Cameron, 6. 3, of Lansing, passed away peacefully, Saturday, December 2. He was born January 1. Sabetha, Kan., the son of Richard E. Ellen Armstrong Cameron. Dick was raised in Atchison, Kan., which he was always proud to call his hometown. He graduated from Atchison High School and earned his Bachelors degree at Kansas State University. He made it well known to all that he was a proud Wildcat supporter. On Aug. 2. 8, 1. 98. Dick married Tera Cliff, she survives at their home in Lansing. He is also survived by one son, Richard Andrew Cameron of Kansas City, Kan., who was Dicks greatest source of pride and joy two sisters, Jane Don Gray of Atchison, Kan., and Ruth Ann Hal Jackson of West Jordan, Utah two nephews Cole Tassie Gray of Culver City Calif. And Kit Jackson of West Jordan, Utah a niece, Jill Shad Crookston and their daughter, Samantha all of Herriman, Utah along with in laws and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents. He served in nearly every leadership capacity during those 3. Clerk of Session, Elder, Deacon, Sunday School teacher, and Youth Group Leader. He was a member of Atchison Kiwanis Club and transferred to Lansing Kiwanis upon his move to the Lansing community. He was a founding member of the Lansing Education Foundation and represented the Lansing business community in the establishment of an exchange program with China. He also served on the boards for Citizens Savings and Loan, the LeavenworthLansing area Chamber of Commerce and the Salvation Army. He spent many years supporting Boy Scout Troop 1. Assistant Scoutmaster while his son was growing up. He was an Eagle Scout and very proud to watch his son earn the rank of Eagle also. Dick loved to hike and spent most family vacations in Estes Park, Colo., where he worked throughout his college summers. The mountains called him and he went as often as possible. He also loved cartooning and was published in the local newspapers, but mostly enjoyed handing out personal drawings to his friends and making them smile. In recent years, his favorite pastime was spending time at his sons business, Daylight Donuts, greeting the customers with his friendly smile and shamelessly promoting the donuts.
